Girls Weekend

It was a last minute trip but oh so fun. Danny always go hunting this weekend so the 4 of us (my mom, sister, myself and Molly) decided to pack up the car and go rough it for the weekend. Ok - not really rough it. We ended up going to the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. It was great. We left Saturday and came back Monday and never left the resort. The hotel definitely had families in mind for the weekend because they had a million different activities for kids. When Molly gets a little older I can't wait to take her back so she can do all the fun things. They had something to do every hour from a Radio Disney performance, movies on the lawn, make your own super hero cape, live music, family flag football, sand castle contest, face painting, a visit from Sea World animals.....and more. I am telling you, they had a million and one things to do. We did a lot of lounging in the lazy river.

When we got there on Saturday we immediately put on our suits and headed to the lazy river. Molly loved every bit of it. We had a fantastic seafood buffet with a live band for dinner then went to go to the zoomagination (where they bring in animals). We stayed for the first animal, an owl, because I got a look see on what they were bringing out next and it was huge and wrapped around someones neck and if you know me you know I was out of there in a split second! It was awful. We headed back to the room and put Molly down for bed, although she had other plans and just wanted to play. Once she was asleep my mom stayed with her while Jenna and I went out for a little perusing. We walked around and ended up watching The Lorax on the lawn with popcorn and an Arnold Palmer. It twas a lovely evening. Then we went back to the room and crashed......for about 30 minutes when Molly woke up. She is not a fan of sleeping in hotels. It felt like we were up every hour. The nights were not so fun. Back up, back up. So at the check in counter they had these massive bowls of plums so we took them just about every time we passed by - ok scratch that - we did take some every time we passed by. Hey, they were free! Well, I took a bite and then let Molly taste it. The initial reaction was ewwww gross but then it was pure deliciousness. She would just suck on it all night long. It made for a nice dinner because I didn't have to entertain and eat. She just sat there sucking on her plum.

On the way to girls weekend!

What in sam hill is that thing???? (It was both of their first time in a Bucees! It was a momentous occasion.)

Are we gonna get on this water or what?!?

Mom this is pretty good. How come the plums you feed me aren't like this?

Bedtime!!!! You are not talking to me, right?

I got things to do before bed

Sunday we woke up about 8am and went out to get some breakfast taquitos then walked around to check out the rest of the resort. I booked a spa appointment and then of course put on our suits and headed back out to the lazy river. After we came back and napped, I got my massage (best.one.ever) and headed back out to the river.....are you seeing a pattern here. We put Molly in the sand when we passed by the beach part and she did not know what to do with that new texture. It was quite humorous. Reece came and joined us for the evening so we circled the river a couple more times then went to the BBQ buffet. By then it was about 7:30pm (Molly goes to bed about 7:15pm) and Molly was getting a little restless. This night I was full on entertaining/shoveling food in my mouth as fast as I could, we had no more plums. Needless to say, Molly and I left dinner a little early and headed back to the room. She was not wanting to sit in her stroller anymore so I picked her up and was steering the stroller. Then things took a turn for the worse, a bug the size of Texas a gnat flew in my eye and was engulfed by my eyelid so my eye was on fire, I am trying to blink it out but now I am just crying massive amounts of tears (along with Molly I might add) and slinging the stroller all across the sidewalk. People are MOVING out of the way. They did not want to mess with the hot mess that was carrying a crying baby, was crying herself, and cannot steer a stroller to save her life. I can't even begin to imagine what people were thinking about me. We made it back to the room on one piece, took a quick bath and finally was able to put my baby to sleep. I stayed in the room and joined Molly on the sleep while my mom, sister and Reece finished a fun dinner then went to hear the jazz band playing on the lawn.

Mom has her go juice now we are ready to start the day.

Mom promised if I gave her a big smile she would give me another plum.

I don't remember this part because I was taking my nap but from what I heard everyone talking about we were just walking around soaking in the fun.

That's where my mom got her massage.

I'm here! I'm here! I am in the river.

Peek-a-boo, I found you!

Just chillin with mom. I liked being in my float the best but I let mom cuddle with me for a little bit.

What, we are taking a picture?!?

Nom, nom, nom.....this strap tastes good.

Mom, can we go yet? Why do you have to eat dinner? I need to eat dinner!

Monday, we had big plans to wake up, eat a quick muffin and go back in the river. Well, those plans changed when Molly woke up at 8:45am (normal is 7am)!!!!!! Don't get too excited she was up quite a bit during the night but 8:45 made up happy. So we lounged around the room and got ready for the day. Packed up our things, made one last round of the hotel and took some nectarines for the road. Molly loved these as well. :)

Good morning. Did you guys bring me back a cup of coffee?

Check this out, I am gonna be a surfer like this guy one day.

Yay, I got free prizes for being a kid!

Girls weekend 2012!!! Holla. Can I take a nap now.....

Being silly with mom on the way home.

All in all it was a great weekend. A lot of work with a little one but it was so much fun getting to see her reaction to everything. We just need to work on sleeping through the night......one day, right. :)
