So my baby daddy....

is kinda a big deal. Today he had a concert at the Hobby Center. It was a packed house, a great concert and he had some fans.

I will leave you with a little sneak peak. This weekend Jenna came in town so me, my mom and Jenna went shopping for a dresser/changing table. Now, when you see this you have to imagine it totally different. Oh how lovely it is going to look. :)

Oh Aggieland and 24 weeks

Yes, tis true, the little one has been to 2 Aggie games thus far and I have a feeling there will be many more in her future. We had a good time up there although I will probably have to miss some games this season because I have to get this nursery done people! While up there she was loved by all. :) On a side note, there are no cute maternity shirts for Aggies. I have searched the internet high and low and there are some cute one for other schools but not A&M. What is up with that?!? Maybe that will be my million dollar idea. Moving on....

A little delayed but I am 24 weeks and still growing. Below is a pic to show the belly after getting back from a walk. I went to Dr. D on Friday and have a couple more stats. I have gained 11 pounds in total now. OMG I kinda freaked out, I know gaining weight is all part of the pregnancy and I of course want to be healthy but I am sure any girl can agree that is just a little rough to gain weight. My docs response was "it was about time that you gained weight" so at least that is good. Listening to her heart beat might be the best sound I have ever heard. I can't help but get a little giddy. Her heart rate was 160 bpm. I am measuring 26 weeks so I am starting to even out. She thinks that I was measuring so big last time because she might have had a growth spurt. So, so far so good. :)

Yum, so good!

Two miracles happened today. 1. I went grocery shopping. 2. I made dinner. It was glorious! I do like to cook it is just the getting the groceries that is the problem. Anywho, tonight I made Cornbread Taco Casserole and it was delish and I think the little one really enjoyed it as well cause she was a kickin! Just wanted to share the recipe. :)

Ingredients:
1lb ground beef or turkey (I used turkey)
1 can cream corn
1 packet taco seasoning
1 package of cornbread mix
2/3 cup salsa
1/2 tsp of onion flakes (I didn't put this in because I forgot to get them)
1 cup water
1 can black beans
1 cup shredded cheese

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375
Mix cream corn, cornbread mix and 1/2 cup water in bowl
Spread mixture into bottom of a greased 9x13 pan
Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes and then remove
Cook meat with onion flakes then drain well
Add 1/2/ cup water and taco seasoning and simmer until water is absorbed
Add salsa and black beans to meat and mix well
Spoon meat mixture over cornbread evenly. Top with cheese
Cover and back for 20 minutes or until cheese bubbles
ENJOY!!!

23 weeks

Two weeks away from being 6 months prego! Seriously......where did the time go??? So, at 23 weeks she can hear everything that is going on so I have been turning on good music and telling her about life.

how far along? 23 weeks
how are you measuring? I will find out on Friday at my next appointment.
size of baby? According to thebump.com our baby is 10.5-11.8 inches long and 12.7-20.8 oz, the size of a papaya.

heartbeat? find out on Friday
total weight gain/loss? + 5 lbs as of 20 weeks which the doctor is amazed by so I am ok with it. I a little nervous about this one on Friday since all I can do is think about that cake.
maternity clothes? Definitely
stretch marks? Still a no and still crossing my fingers
sleep? I wake up once pr twice a night to go potty
best moment this week? Her kicks. She is still a kicking queen. It is just so surreal and a really neat feeling. Oh and my mom went to this resale event out in Katy called tot2tot and she came away with some steals on a food processor, swing, etc. :)
food cravings? Tollhouse crunch cake and I have been thinking a lot about peach jolly ranchers but haven't gotten any yet but I used to love those things
what i miss? Sleeping through a whole night.
what I'm looking forward to? Finalizing the crib bedding. Hopefully that gets done this week!
how are you feeling? Really great!!!

Move over red velvet

There is a new favorite in town! Danny and I went on a date night tonight and decided to venture inside the loop. We both work inside the loop so we generally don't go out that direction on the weekends. Well, tonight we got a wild hair! We started out at Nidda's, a super authentic Thai restaurant. I had to get the baby used to some different food and Danny is still, yes you read correctly, STILL obsessed with yellow curry. I know you all are thinking, Danny liking something other than the basic food categories, American, Italian and Mexican??? Oh yes my friends, we have branched out and he is loving it. Next I have to get him to fall in love with Indian food because that stuff is good! Anyway, moving on to the star of the blog post, the new favorite cake. Hold the phone, gotta go back to dinner. So while we are there Danny about falls out of his chair because his idol was eating in the same restaurant. Oh my! Not sure if everyone knows him but it was Michael Berry, a radio talk show host here in Houston who talks about non other than Danny's favorite subject, politics. Pretty much the entire dinner he was making googly eyes at him wishing he could work up the nerve to go say something. Oh Danny.....you make me laugh. :)

OK so now I am really moving on. After dinner we stopped at Empire Cafe to get some dessert well O.M.G. Everyone has got to try this. It is basically heaven on earth, which is not a good thing to give a pregnant lady because I can see it being a craving. It is called Tollhouse Crunch and it is the most delicious cake I have ever had in my life. For every holiday I am just going to go ahead and serve this because man is it worth it. It is the most moist yellow cake you have ever eaten, 3 layers I might add, baked with brown sugar and soft chocolate morsels throughout and layered with chocolate frosting. Perfection.

Just thought I would let everyone know in case you are wanting something divine.
