Memorial Day Weekend Shananagans

This past weekend was really busy and a lot of fun! It started Friday where we made the trek to Ft. Worth to stay with my grandparents. Molly did pretty well on the way up there, no major crying sessions but we did get a little fussy.

Once we got there Molly had a little suprise waiting for her. My grandparents got her a swing and she loved it! She would have stayed in there all night if it were up to her. She just loves being outside and feeling the breeze flow through her duck feathers. If she is ever unhappy all you have to do is take her outside and she will calm down. It has some sort of magical powers.
Saturday, we hung out, napped, bathed the dogs and swang (or is it swung - I don't know). Later in the evening we went to my cousins wedding where she looked absolutely stunning! To put icing on the cake we actually got to stay at the reception for a while because Molly did so well. Her bedtime is 7:30pm so I figured we would make it to the reception, she would get fussy and we would leave right away. Well, we got to the reception and Molly was all smiles. She really didn't get fussy at all. Finally at 10:15pm she started to to get in her comatose state so we took that as our queue to head out before a possible melt down ensued. And then of course it took all of 2 seconds for her to fall asleep once we were in the car. It was great and I was so happy we got to stay as long as we did!

Sunday we had a delicious brunch where we got to hang out with more family. Then, after it was all said and done we made the trek back home and you can see how Molly felt about leaving everyone.

Monday, Memorial Day, we went over to our friend's house to do a little grillin. Kelly's little girl is about 4 weeks younger than Molly so they are destined to be bffs. We met some new friends while there and you can see the major difference in size. Molly 4.5 months, Rayleigh 5 days younger than Molly, little Tatum 4 weeks younger than Molly. You can tell we don't miss too many meals around here. :)

Of course we can't forget the ones who have served our country on this special day. Danny and I both had grandfathers that served in WWII. A special thank you to those men and women.

P.S. Molly is a little rolly poly. She just rolls anywhere she pleases.

Rice Cereal - yay or nay

Well, Molly has tried rice cereal. I wasn’t sure if I was going to give it to her or not but I decided to try it and just see if she liked it. The first go around was not so well received. You can see that in the video below. It was quite humorous. After a couple more bites she started to enjoy it. We have only fed it to her once but I will probably try again….if we can stay home long enough on the weekends. We have just been on the go.

Savoring the flavor to see if I like this
It was ok but I think I like my hand better

Molly's Friends

Molly has quite a few of them. We decided to bring them all out and make the introductions. She seemed to like them well enough. She even had a pretty in depth conversation with her white teddy bear, although I think she is a little confused on where the ear is. She ended up telling Mr. Bear's foot her secret.

4 months and a day old

Time is just flying by. Miss Molly there are so many things you have learned to do in this past month

• You are constantly making noise and I love it!
• You are still grabbing for things and everything still goes straight in your mouth.
• You learned how to roll over from your belly to back a couple weeks ago (4/23/12) and have perfected it. Just last week on 5/10/12 you learned how to roll from your back to belly.
• You love to blow bubbles – it is kinda your thing now.
You are wearing 6 month clothing! wow
You are wearing size 2 diapers still but being almost 16 lbs I am guessing we will be out of those in no time.
You my little friend, are all about your feet! You want them all the time and you want them in your mouth.
• You love looking at yourself in the mirror.
• You are still such a happy baby. You are all grins all the time.
• You are so strong! You like to be held so you are “standing” up.
• You are so out of your swaddle now. As soon as we put it on you, you break out. We just keep it on your body so you can have some type of covers at night.
• Most of the time you wake up happy as a clam. You just entertain yourself by talking until we come in there.
• You have a new exersaucer toy that you play in. You haven’t quite figured it out but we can see that the wheels are turning.
• You follow everything with your eyes. If something moves around you need to see what it is doing.
• You have started your giggle and it is the most precious sound ever! You only give it to me sometimes and in small amounts. I just can’t wait for the day when you let out your little belly laugh.
• You are still all over the place at night. You set a routine for about a week and then change it up on us. One day we will figure this out and you will sleep through the night.

Here are your stats from your doctors appointment today. Dr. D said you were one healthy girl!
Height - 25.5 inches (90%). You have grown 1.5 inches since your last visit.
Weight - 15lbs 9oz (87%). You have gained 3lbs 3oz since your last visit.
Head circumference - 16.5 inches (76%). Your head grew 0.6 inches.

Molly, so many people tell me all the time that you are such a good/happy baby and that I don’t know how good I have it. I would say I have to agree and I am a little nervous at what your siblings might be like…..but luckily I don’t have to think about that anytime soon! You make me so happy and I can’t wait to get home from work everyday so I can see your sweet smile.

Lunch Date

Miss Molly came to visit me at work during lunch yesterday and it was fabulous! All my coworkers always ask about her and want to see/meet her so we had a little party. She was super happy, blowing bubbles, and smiling. I, of course, didn’t want her to leave but at the end of the visit it was nap time so she had to go and I guess I had to get back to work. ;) Here are some pics from the adventure.

Then after I got home we went for our usual evening walk and she just looked so cute I had to post some pics. She is all about her feet right now, in case you can’t tell.
