The First Day of My New Job

Kinda. I went part time at work and today was my first day to be home with Molly. I get two days off a week to be with little miss and I couldn't be more excited. Jenna came over and we did a little shopping and playing. Here is a little bit of what we did in pictures.

Mimzie got us a new mat that we love and of course like to eat. M for Molly. (Yes, those are knee pads for this big time crawler, this little girl can't get her knees scratched up!) :)

I climbed up anything and everything, walls, chairs, tables - seriously EVERYTHING. I kept mom on her toes.

Played peekaboo with my teddy bear

Went to go see what the dogs were barking at, which was nothing of course. (Yes, my dogs have totally ruined my front door - just ignore all the scratches).

I played with Rocki

Of course I got my swinging in!

It was a great day. Friday, which is my next day off this week we have big plans to celebrate my dad's birthday and go swimming. It's gonna be fun....

This Morning

When I went to get Molly out of her crib I was greeted with a big smile and she was greeted with a shocked look of "OMG you are standing in your crib?!?"

When did she get so big?!?

Bedtime Routine

Oh Molly, you haven't quite started sleeping through the night consistently but that is ok as much as it kills me to wake up in the middle of the night I secretly love it because you are always a good cuddlier during the night. Dr. D said you should be sleeping through the night by 8 months so we have 1 months to work on it. In other news I wanted to talk about your bedtime routine because you are so sweet at night.

We start out with a bath. We used your newborn bath for about 6 months which you outgrew (like everything else) so we are now using your new big girl bath ring. You still LOVE bath time! You kick your legs, eat your toys and splash in the water. You could seriously stay in there all night. You give us the biggest smile when we take you out of the bath and wrap you up in the towel.

Then we move to your changing table where you just like to talk and laugh that is until we start putting your pajamas on. Once that starts happening you are not a happy camper. We have had to get creative on different "toys" to give you for distraction purposes. All you want to do is roll over and crawl and see everything that is on your changing table. After the pj's are on you like to look in the mirror above your changing table and jump, jump, jump. We do that for a while and then......

Move to the glider and read some books if you aren't too ready for bed. You go back and forth between eating the book and having it read to you.

Then it is time for bottle and bed. When you eat you cover your eyes with your hands and lovie and make your cute little noises. After the bottle you are either still wide awake your ready to pass out. If you sleep you tilt your head to the crook of my elbow, purse your lips and fall asleep. I rock you for a while and just look at your little face and soak it in. Then I wake you up a little and put you in your crib. If you are still awake after your bottle we put your in your crib and say our goodbyes and you put yourself to sleep.

Once you get pretty sleepy we move you to your bed give you a big kiss goodnight and walk out. You sing to yourself for a little bit and then you are out.

7 Months Miss. Molly

• You smile ALL.THE.TIME. When I pick you up from school you get the biggest grin on your face and it makes me feel so good! As soon as I open that door and say, Mmmmoooolllyyyy, you look up, find me and get all giddy.
• You are waking up at 7am pretty regularly and going to be about 7:30pm. You still have one feeding in the middle of the night, usually around 3:30am.
• You wear size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothing.
• You are crawling everywhere and are pulling up. When someone is sitting on the floor with you, you crawl all the way up someone’s body. Just the other day when you were with Aunt Nenna you crawled up the toilet – gross!
• You are saying da-da-da-da and ta-ta-ta. You are very vocal these days and annunciating a lot more.
• You like to be outside. You get super quite and just take it all in.
• Your favorite time is when mommy and daddy are both playing with you on the ground or on the bed.
• You are taking 3 naps during the day, sometimes 2. One at 9:30am (this one is only about 45 min) then one at 12:30pm (about 2-3 hours) and then another cat nap around 5pm (for about 20-30 min). By the time I pick you up from school you are worn out. I try and get you to take a little nap at home but you just play with mommy so I drive around or go shopping for about 30 min because you fall asleep in the car about 5 minutes into the drive.
• Your changing table used to be one of your favorite places and now, let’s just say you can’t stay still long enough to put a diaper on you. I have to find many distractions for you because you just want to flip over and crawl. Clearly not safe. Oh Molly….
• You are eating, somewhat. I think I have posted enough on that to know how that is going but we are making progress. Slow and steady wins the race…..or something like that.
• You love to watch Harli and Rocki in fact you love to watch everything. When someone is holding you, you push away to make sure you don’t miss anything that is going on.
• You like going to school. You love your teacher, Ms. Vita and she loves you. You always get a great report when I pick you up. They all just gush about you.

Molly Grace, I just love you so much! I really didn't think I could love something this much. You are just getting more fun with every passing day. I feel like you are learning something new all the time. I can't believe you are closer to being one than being a newborn. I have mixed emotions about that. I can't wait to see what you learn next but at the same time I want you to stay just how you are forever.

Cheese!

Yeah I can touch my toes mom.

Oh you want me to try with my legs out. Of course I can still do it. Why can't you?

OK, I gotta stand up. This take a lot of concentration.

Gotta go!

Oh, did I need to stay in the beanbag chair?!?

Forget these pictures, I am gonna read a book.

They did it!

And we survived. My sister and Danny's brother graduated college! Jenna from Baylor and Bobby from A&M. We got up super early of Friday morning, drove to College Station, dropped Molly off at my cousin's, cheered Bobby on as he went across the stage, picked Molly up, went to a celebratory lunch, drove to Waco, did a little shopping, tried to put Molly down for a nap, ended up playing, went to dinner, left dinner early because it was past time for bed, put Molly down for bed, woke up a million times a couple times during the night, woke up early again, dropped Molly off at Sarah's house, went to cheer Jenna on as she crossed the stage, picked Molly up, went to a celebratory lunch, Danny and Molly left lunch early so he could drive her around because it was nap time, took a family photo, drove home - you might think it is over but no, we like to pack a million things in one weekend - Danny and I decided to purchase Lion King tickets a while back forgetting it was graduation weekend so we dropped Molly off at home, my mom came over to watch her, we went to the show, came home and passed out around midnight. Bam, now it is over. So to say we were exhausted from the two days would be a slight understatement. The weekend was a whirlwind of events, a lot of fun and a lot of work. To travel with a baby where everything took place during nap time is not the best idea, but I guess everything happens during nap time when you have a baby and said baby takes 3 naps a day. We got a little fussy but no absolute meltdowns which is a win in my book! Molly was a trooper, that is for sure.

Fashion Diva

That would be Molly Grace! Her school had a fashion show last week and well, looks like Molly stole the show. All the kids bedazzled an outfit and then walked crawled the cat walk. She is lookin good and she knows it!

Speaking of posing, take a look at these pictures. A couple weeks ago my mom, sister and I went shopping and of course ended up in a baby clothing store because of course Molly needs MORE clothes. This girl….. Anyway, I digress, we put this soft hat on her because it is oh so cold here in Houston and she LOVED it. Seriously, just smiled, giggled and couldn’t stop touching it. So what did I do, bought it of course! Luckily it was on sale and only $3 so I was ok with buying a winter hat when it is 100 degrees outside.

P.S. They played with Jello in school today and the teacher said she loved it! Can't wait to see those pictures.
