Babymoon

This past weekend Danny and I took our last getaway before little Molly comes. We decided to go to the little German town of Fredericksburg and it was a lot of fun. I had never been there before so it was all new to me. We left Friday morning, got into town around 3pm and walked Main Street. We went in and out of all the cute shops soaking in the small town atmosphere. After that we got a wild hair and decided to drive out to Enchanted Rock. We didn't hike it but did go take a pic at the base. :)


After that it was time for dinner so we went back into town and ate some Mexican food then headed back to the B&B and watched the Rangers. Sad game but we were happy for Berkman. Check out how cute our bed and breakfast was. We stayed at the top of a barn.


Saturday morning we woke up, drank some coffee outside and then got some visitors. They stayed around until we left for the day.


We headed back up to Main Street for a fabulous breakfast which happened to be in the basement of an old hospital. Then of course more shopping and mid day we ended up at the Fredericksburg Brewery to watch the Ags. Unfortunately, the game did not turn out in our favor so we remedied it with some more shopping and relaxing back at the B&B with our new friends to greet us. I also got introduced to an animal I had never even heard of, a nutria??? Well it was basically a large rat but it hung around with the ducks. After we relaxed some we went to dinner at this great Italian restaurant called Pasta Bella. Then we were able to head out to Danny's Aunt and Uncle's house to hang out with them for a bit.





Sunday was a fabulous day. We got up early went to a little cafe to grab a bite to eat and then got an hour long massage. It was glorious and something I would love to do every morning. It was a great way to start the day. :) The sad part was that after it was over it was time to head back home. All in all it was a great weekend and it only got us more excited for Molly's debut.

Molly's 1st shower

O.M.G. That is the only way I can describe it. Molly had her first shower on Saturday and it was the cutest one I have ever been to (I might be a little biased but oh well). Jenna, Candace, Claire and Becca (sad day that she couldn't be there, we missed her) did such an amazing job putting this together. It could not have been more special. Molly is one lucky girl. The theme was owls (which you will see in the nursery). There were so many personal touches. It was just perfect. Let me just show you how great of a job they did and if you want to hire them just let me know. haha :) I just can't thank everyone enough.

First let me show you the pretty ladies that threw this shower for Molly.

Let's start with the extremely cute invitations and envelope

Moving on to the wreath that was on the door as everyone arrived. I am a huge monogram person so the initials were perfect!

Then the sign in table with a framed invitation and bird cage (which you will also see in the nursery)

Moving over to the gift opening area you will see this precious banner with Molly's name on it which Claire made. I can't wait to hang this in her room.

Now to the tree that Candace put together. It was so cute. It had Bible verses on there, little shoes, socks, etc and clothes at the bottom.


Here is a little area with cute clothes and bows. A super cute mirror Jenna made which will hang above her dresser and then a frame with baby pics of myself and Danny.



Let's not forget the delicious food! The theme was not lost here. They had cute name plates for all the food choices and please take a look at these cupcakes and rice krispie treats. People, it just doesn't get any cuter than this. AND that cake you see, oh it is the one that I have been craving! The toll house one.....sooo good.






Of course it wouldn't be a shower without all the people that came out to love on Molly.






Then the gifts, there were so many! I think Molly is just about set. The pink dress below was made 60 years ago by my great grandmother's friend for my dad to wear (before she knew my dad was a boy of course) so now Molly gets to wear it. This was a super special gift. The other thing you see below is a wreath that my cousin Josie handmade. I can't wait to hang it on her door. BUT, selfishly I think my favorite gift was from the hostesses. They got me a pedicure gift card (which I am in desperate need of) and a gift card to Taste of Texas for a date night with the hubs after Molly arrives. I can't wait to use it and get a medium rare steak with a glass of wine.....just a little while longer.



The day doesn't end there. Danny was planning on coming up to the shower to help me take everything home but Kay said he was hanging out with Gary (his dad) and Kyle (his brother) so she was going to take the gifts over. I thought ok, no problem. Well, when I arrived at home everyone was hanging out talking about everything that Molly got and Kay asks of she can see the color of the nursery. I got get my laptop from my room because the bedding is changing and she says "no, show me the room" so I take her back here saying nothing is done and low and behold something was done. This is what I found! I was so excited and shocked! While we were at the shower the boys were putting together the crib. It is so perfect and I can't wait to add Molly to it.

Everything was great. For the next couple of hours Danny and I oggled over everything and imagined Molly wearing or playing with it all.

Sorry this post is 5 days late. I wrote this last Sunday 10/16.

Third trimester that is. I am 28 weeks today, that means 12 weeks away from delivery, if she decides to come on time. As I posted earlier I went to the doctor on Friday (10/14) for a regular monthly check-up. It was the whole testing for gestational diabetes appointment and man did that make for a long morning. We got there at 8:30am where I went straight to get my blood drawn and I cried. Next, we got to see little Miss. Molly in an ultrasound. The doctor wanted to figure out why I am constantly measuring bigger than how far along I am and it turns out that is just how I carry babies. Go figure.... Right now she is 2 pounds 7 ounces and measuring in the 37th percentile which is pretty normal but a little on the petite side. After that I went back do have more blood drawn (it was ever hour) and I cried. Then I went to talk to Dr. D for my appointment. She said everything looks great and normal so that is good. We waited some more and I got my blood drawn one last time, that time no tears. So that means 3 needles people, 3! Let's also add in that I got my flu shot earlier that week so that is 4 needles in a week. BIG DEAL people. Big deal! Can I just add that I have never gotten the flu shot and that thing hurts big time. The key is that I didn't pass out during any of those so we are making progress. :)

27 weeks aka last week of my second trimester

OMG. So that means on Sunday I will enter my third trimester. Wow, just wow. I ended up going to the doctor last Thursday because I was having some pain and wanted to get it checked out before I went out of town this past weekend. I was in quite a bit of pain to the point where I could barely walk at the end of the night. I wasn't having any contractions or anything but basically, she has nudged herself so low that my pelvic bone is pulling apart which apparently can be very painful. I have to get this band thing to wear around my belly to hopefully pull her up so she isn't sitting on my bones. If the brace doesn't work then we will try physical therapy and if that doesn't work it moves to bedrest. Well, I don't have time for that so Molly and I are going to have to work together to figure this out. :) Here is a pic and some stats. Basically, I was measuring 30 weeks when I was 26 so going back up. I have an regular appointment this Friday to check my glucose so they will also be doing an ultrasound to find out why I am measuring so big. Her heartbeat was 156bpm and such a sweet sound. Back to the reason I was there.Here is my normal belly pic.

How Far Along: 27.5 weeks but in my appointment last Thursday I was measuring 30 weeks so when I go back on Friday I will get an ultrasound to figure it out.
Size of baby: 13.6 to 14.8 inches and 1.5 to 2.5 pounds (still the size of an eggplant)
Gender: A GIRL!!! Molly Grace
Maternity Clothes: Yes and lots of Danny's big tshirts! :)
Weight gain: 14 pounds
Belly Button: It is starting to get really flat. Not sure if it will poke out or not.
Movement: Oh yes, she is getting much stronger.
Sleep: I am getting some but not a whole lot because I want to sleep on my stomach so bad but that is not so comfortable.
Symptoms: I feel like my energy is starting to dwindle a little.
Cravings: I have been wanting a lot of chocolate lately.
Best moment this week: This week I will go to the doctor for my regular mothly check-up. After this appointment I will start going every other week. CRAZY! I am going to get to see her because I am getting an ultrasound.

29 years old!!!!!

WHAT?!? When did that happen. Today Danny turned 29 which is almost 30......almost 30 people! Wow. Wasn't it just yesterday that we were 19 walking around A&M talking about how stressed we were about some test or whose house we were going to on Friday night. Man those thoughts are gone. Now it is babies, paying a mortgage, and going to bed at 10pm on a Friday night. Man oh man.

All in all Danny had a good day. It was a normal day of work and then we went to dinner. Danny's parents, my parents and my grandma all came for the celebration. Of course we had to go to Thai Cottage, as that is Danny's fave place. Here are a few pics of the night.

The cake that says Happy Birthday Daddy. Supposedly, it is the best carrot cake in Houston and I will say it was pretty good. So if you are ever in need go to the Dessert Gallery BUT they clearly don't have people that have nice writing write on the cakes. Oh well, it was still good. :)

Here is the loot. He got all kinds of good stuff: a tent, fly fishing stuff, golf polo, movies, book, lantern, knife - you know - guys stuff.

26 weeks and counting

I can't even believe it! Her eyes are going to open soon where she will bat those eyelashes that have recently grown. Her immune system is gearing up for the real world and she is soaking up my antibodies. Here are the stats.

how are you measuring? Don't know, will have an appt in 2 weeks
size of baby? According to thebump.com our baby is 13.6 to 14.8 inches and 1.5 to 2.5lbs, the size of an eggplant.
maternity clothes? Definitely
sleep? not getting too much. I pretty much toss and turn all night because I am a stomach sleeper and can't so much do that anymore
best moment this week? I can really see her move from the outside of my belly
food cravings? I still think about that cake but haven't had any lately, although that is probably a good thing.
what i miss? Right now, a good glass of wine with dinner
what I'm looking forward to? Ordering the fabric for the bedding. Here is a little sneak peak to one of the fabrics.
