Giving Thanks 2012

Thanksgiving 2012 - we have so much to be thankful for; wonderful family, great friends, good health, enjoyable jobs, delicious food, and of course our little chunky monkey that we were blessed with in 2012.
We started out going to Danny's cousin's house and ended up at my parent's house. We had delicious food, good company and great conversation all day long. I was too busy enjoying the meal that I forgot to take any pictures so the below pics are stolen from my cousin and father in law (thank you). It would have been nice to take that long turkey induced coma/nap after both of our thanksgiving meals but I guess I better give that up now as those days are long gone.....ha! I

These are most the great grandkids on Danny's maternal side.
A family pic
The Struzick family
One thing we learned...don't get between Molly and her walking toy....we are gonna have to work on the sharing thing.

And I need to get on the ball and take more pictures at these family events.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

P.S. I had to include these pics as well because I love them. We had a fun day at the ranch after turkey day.

CHEESE!
You mean you want me to play some football?!?
But I do such a great job of sitting here lookin pretty.

She's Gone and Done It.

She took her first step. Yep, you read correctly. Notice that I did only say step and not steps but still kinda a big deal. Danny and I were just sitting in the living room after work last Wednesday (11/14/12) and she decided to take a step from the coffee table to me and that was it. Danny and I looked at each other like "did you just see what I just saw?!?" and then we freaked out.

The next night Aunt Nenna was over and we told her and well, she wanted to test it out. We tried having her walk from her to me and it worked a couple of times but with only one step.

Then today when I went to pick her up from school her teacher said "don't be mad but she took her first step today". Ha! She did that for me last week. Made me feel a little better she wasn't growing up without me. :) Regardless, her teacher was so excited for her and so was I.

Before long homegirl is gonna be running so in the meantime I am going to soak up what little time I have left of my little crawling baby.

I will leave you with a couple pictures. In the meantime I will work on getting a good walking video.

Hello! Did you ring my doorbell?!
What I am not making a mess....
And no I am not tired
What?!? Do I have something on my face?
It's go time!

Pumpkin Outtakes

Thought I would get these pics in before fall was over. This was how the pumpkin photo shoot when down.

What is this?
Dad....are you sure you should put me in here?!?
I don't think I like this....
Um no. Get me out outta here!
Ohhhhhh maybe this could be ok
It's a little slimy
Ewwwwwwww, it's really slimy
This is kinda fun. I think I might like slimy.
Wait....what am I sitting in?
Yeah, this isn't gonna happen.

10 Months Old

Molly, Molly, where has the time gone. You turned 10 months old yesterday. I know these next two months are just going to fly by with the holidays so I just have to soak up all this baby time. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week!
• You are still wearing 12 (some 12-18) month clothing, size 3 diapers and size 3 in shoes.
• You have started shaking your head back and forth (luckily you don’t know that means no). You must have learned this from a kid at school. You are also making this scrunchy face where you show your teeth and scrunch your nose up.
• You have 6.5 teeth. Two full teeth on the bottom and another one of the bottom just started poking through. You still have 4 on the top.
• You are still balancing on your own but haven’t taken any steps yet but you are walking all the time with your walking toy.
• You still take 2 naps a day. Morning nap is usually 45min – 1.5 hours and afternoon nap around 1pm and it is usually 2 hours. You are still sleeping through the night (even when you were sick which was a nice suprise!).
• You drink 4 bottles a day (7am, 11am, 3pm and 7:15pm) and you have 3 meals a day. We have started introducing you to formula this month. You are not loving it which is why you have two bottles with half and half. I am just not feelin my bomb shelter supply so I am donating it and giving you the fresh stuff.
• Likes: you still love your lovie and didn’t want to let it go when you were sick this month. You love most foods (favs being sweet potatoes, mandarine oranges, puffs and cheese), opening and closing doors, looking at yourself in the mirror, soft things, walking and when daddy plays the trombone.
• Dislikes: putting on your pjs, laying on your back, wrapping paper tubes – strangest thing ever. We went to the Container Store and was looking at wrapping paper and she freaked out when I picked up a tube. Does NOT like it.
• You copy noises that you hear. Anything noise that we make you try and do the same.
• You have this fake cough that you do after a real cough or to get attention. You like it best when people do it back to you.
Molly Grace, I love you so much. I have so much fun on our days together. You are so fun to be around and you have such a sweet spirit. Everytime I take you anywhere someone ALWAYS comments on you saying how beautiful you are. You are so full of spunk and life. You love to be around people although it takes you a while to warm up to a crowd. You can also entertain yourself when you are by yourself. After your naps you wake up happy as can be and just sit in your crib for a while talking to your lovie. You are constantly amazing me with the new skills you learn. It is like you wake up every day and decide that you can do something else. MG, you are the coolest kid I know. I love you my little chicken nugget.

Trying to wrangle this girl is a little difficult.....

Hand, Foot and Mouth.....Say What?!?

Well, it looks like little miss had her first and hopefully last bought of hand, foot and mouth disease. It has been pretty sad to see Molly out of commission for a couple of days. On Friday, I noticed little red bumps on her skin but just thought they would go away and it was just a light reaction to something. Well, Saturday, when they were supposed to go away, they only multiplied and some of them got bigger and formed into blister-like sores and when she woke up from her afternoon nap she was running a fever. I figured she had the hand, foot and mouth stuff because I have had friends that got it and I googled it for confirmation. Monday we went to see her doc for more confirmation and just to verify that there is really nothing you can do for it except wait it out. Unfortunately it is highly contagious for children under 5 years old and it is just one of those things. But we are turning a page because today has been the first day she has been fever free. Sunday and Monday she was out of it just really clingy, lethargic and didn't really want to eat. So I soaked up all of her cuddles because at this point she just wants to go go go. Speaking of go, go, go......today Molly is 10 MONTHS!!!!!! Seriously. I will do a post on that later.
She feel asleep like this 20 minutes after waking up for the day. (Monday)
Poor baby
Feeling better today!

Molly's Castle

Yes, she has her own castle, homemade of course. She doesn't know the difference, she might as well think it is the Cinderella Castle, which is totally what inspired the look. Ha! I ordered 2 chairs off the interweb which came in 2 big boxes. First, we made a box into a tunnel and then Aunt Nenna got creative and made both boxes into a castle. Voila - Cinderella in her castle. It might be a little weird that we have a huge cardboard mass in our living room but you do what you gotta do for a little bambino - right?!? Or, we are just those parents.
Gotta show Mr. Blue Bird everything.
Checkin out the windows.

A Visit from Granny and Great Granddaddy

This past weekend we had a visit from my paternal grandparents that live in Ft. Worth. They just couldn't take it anymore and decided that they needed to come down and visit with the little miss. We had a great time but unfortunately M got sick with a cold on Sunday which meant she was a little out of it and the time change didn't help at all. But, she still provided hours of entertainment!
We read books!
We played with our new raggedy ann doll.
We practiced walking.....yes I said walking.
We played peek-a-boo.
Thanks for coming G&G! I had a great time!
Until next time....

Fall Festivities

We have been busy, busy, busy in the month of October and it looks like things are just going to get busier. First, let's start out with her school pictures. Yes, she already takes school pictures and we a little obsessed. She is totally posed and cheesin for it. Her teachers made the frame so sweet with her foot prints. This is definately prominently displayed in the house.

Last weekend we headed out to Molly's school fall festival. They had games, rides, bouncy house, pumpkin decorating and fire truck rides. We played a game, went to visit with her teachers and then spent the rest of our tickets at the bake sale.....go figure. We didn't get great photos but she did have on a sweet little pumpkin outfit - see below!

Next, it was Halloween. My mom hosted a little brunch for her neighbors and we joined in after M's morning nap. Everything was put together so nicely and delish - MG agreed. She loves her some breakfast casserole. Here are some of the details. I should have taken more pics so I could pin it on pinterest because seriously, everything was so clever, from the mummies in a blanket to the candy corn tree.

Later that night we headed to our church for Trunk or Treat. Molly had her entourage with her for her first Halloween. You have already seen her costume but add the tights and you get most fashionable pumpkin out there. There was a little toddler room with a ball pit (where we ate all the balls - I know so gross but she puts everything in her mouth), tunnels (we went in and out of), and rocking things galore (there was a boat or maybe it was a car but she loved that thing, it was quite the show). She even got some goldfish instead of candy which she enjoyed the next day.
November should be just as fun.....
